My son Grant bought a motorcycle this past weekend. He has been wanting one form the past two years. He purchased it used from a friend. The motorcycle is a red Honda 50cc.
After he purchased it, he had to take it for a ride. He had never ridden a motorcycle before, and to say the least I was a little concerned. He put on his new motocross gear. The gear consisted of pants, shirt, and a helmet. After he had gotten all of the gear on, he was ready to ride. Of course, I had to give some fatherly advice. We pushed the red bike out of the garage, and onto the grass. I gave it two kicks, and the motor was purring. The look of excitement was evident by the expression on his face. He placed his leg over the bike and took the handle bars. He looked a though he had ridden for a number of years. I gave a couple of quick instructions, and quietly said a prayer to myself. He gave the throttle a twist and he was off and riding. I ran beside him just in case he got into trouble. He rounded the yard a couple of times. He was doing great. He was so good that I stopped running and let him ride alone. He was doing it, he was riding by himself. The ride had to be cut short, because of the cold temp. Even though it was just a short ride he was a very proud boy. I was very proud, just as I am everyday!
